10th Street Boat Basin Dredging Project
The City of Sarasota, in partnership with the West Coast Inland Navigational District (WCIND) and Sarasota County continue the dredging project for the boat basin.
The funding for this project is provided by authority of the WCIND, Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota.
The contractor is currently 50% complete with the material removal and anticipate an early January 2018 completion.
Usage of the ramps will be impaired this week with limited use thru Friday. Then on Monday, October 9th the ramps will be closed to boaters due to the dredging at the western ramps. As soon as the dredge and suction pipe clears these western ramps, the contractor will be able to sink and anchor the hose so that boats will be able to go over it when the ramps reopen on Friday, October 13th.
When completed, the bottom elevation of the basin will be at +/-, -8 feet providing additional draft for boaters. If questions or comments arise please contact the City Project Manager, Bill Nichols at 941-329-6138 or e-mail at William.Nichols@sarasotafl.gov
